The house sparrow is a species of bird in the family Passeridae, with the scientific name Passer domesticus. Also known as the common sparrow or European sparrow, they are one of the most common birds in the world, found in regions such as Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. House sparrows are also very common in China, often found in cities, villages and cultivated fields.
House sparrows are smaller in size, about 12 centimeters in length. They are brown from head to back, with black collar stripes, gray-brown wing feathers and white belly. Males and females are similar in appearance, but the male's black ruff is more pronounced than the female's.
